About us

Dr Ashraf Chohan
Chairman & Founder

Established in 2000, Human Care Trust International Ltd. is a UK-registered charitable organization, listed with both Companies House and the Charity Commission. Founded and primarily self-funded by Dr Ashraf Chohan, the Trust was created out of a deep personal commitment to supporting vulnerable individuals and communities in need. While it receives occasional donations, the charity has largely operated through personal contributions and a close network of supporters.

Our Flagship Project: YARANA – You Are Not Alone

In response to the growing mental health crisis, particularly exacerbated during the COVID-19 pandemic, Human Care Trust International launched its flagship initiative: YARANA (You Are Not Alone).

This is a 24/7 online mental health support service, offering free, confidential consultations for individuals experiencing depression, anxiety, loneliness, or other mental health concerns. Backed by a dedicated team of GMC-registered consultant psychiatrists, YARANA has provided a vital lifeline—particularly to young people struggling with mental health challenges while navigating career and life pressures.

Since its inception in 2020, the service has received a growing number of requests for help, highlighting the urgent need for accessible, compassionate mental health support. YARANA remains free to users, made possible by the volunteer efforts of mental health professionals and the ongoing commitment of Human Care Trust International.

Our Broader Mission and Humanitarian Work

Beyond mental health, Human Care Trust International has been active in a wide range of charitable causes, both in the UK and internationally:
